hey guys, i have a vk 308 with a trimatic on it and have purchased a w55 setup for it but am wondering if the box is any longer then the trimatic (havent recieved the box yet it is still in transit) and how possible it would be to redrill a trimatic housing to suit the box. and finally if a 30e shaft is same length/durability as the standard v8 one as i have a 30e shaft that would make it easier to weld/balance w55 yolk onto rather then having my car off the road longer. and while ive got your attention, my back trim piece (with calais 5.0 on it) has a few snapped plastic mounting pieces, anyway to heatgun some more plastic on it mount or would be better trying to find another one any help would be awesome

Not really sure about the gearbox, but the Calais Bootlid trim retaining clips are all available from rare spares, 6 top mounting lugs and 5 black plastic "L" clips on the bottom. Very uncommon for a moulding to be broken.

thanks for the help will have to go to rare spares next week sometime, also another question if the hq/hz trimatic to 308 is identical (in bellhousing stakes) to the vk 308 trimatics?

mate, like i said to ya when i saw the rear trim, just go to sayers in onehunga, hell sort you out,or rare spares,to replace that back trim will cost a **** load if you could find one,fix it before it falls off or some punk rips it off!If the plastic is broken around where clips go,it should be cheap to plastic weld. duno if you got my txt either but theres two sets of tail lights on trade me,ones centre aswell for $65 and other is $35 for pair.both lots are calais lights with red pin stripes.
