the ACL piston division was sold to Mahle. I think ACL and Mahle pistons are good, and ACL race series bearings and gaskets are good too, id just use nissan or cometic for the head gasket, ARP for the rod bolts, head and main studs.
i'm using Venolia Forged Racing Pistons, with ACL bearings and gaskets with a genuine nissan headgasket and stock NA rods and rod bolts.

17-05-10, 07:58 GMT+10#13 Ive been told that the Forged pistons are made by Ross in the US, the standard cast pistons are made by mahle and the cast Race series are made by a few other suppliers. The standards are fairly **** I bought a set and took them back, Ive used ACL race series cast and forged both a very good quality piston at a good price.

Hi guys, Antho, you're pretty much spot on the money there, Mahle Make ACL Cast Piston here in austalia as OEM products to manufacturers, and Aftermarket, anything the is 'MAHLE Aftermarket' comes from the US, as does ROSS, which is made by the MAHLE Group as a Blank, then Finished at ROSS USA.
IMO, the MAHLE Motorsport Powerpack is second to none, having seen the ACL, ROSS and MAHLE MMS Products side by side, as for bearings and rings etc, thats a matter of personal preference.
Me personally, i've gone Mahle MMS pistons with JPC Rods.
