I am avoiding uni study atm, so i thought a thread on my car would be a great way to procrastinate! I had a N/A VL before this VL and i wanted to make sure that this time i bought a VL of a high standard, one that wasn't falling apart and one that was going to be reliable. I looked at numerous VLs, i specifically was looking for rb25s, worked 20's and if i could find one, a rb26. After much wasted time, i eventually saved enough cash money and went to look at a hothouse green VL,running a rb25, that i had patiently watched in the quoka for months. As soon as i saw it, i had to have it and after the RAC inspection, the VL was purchased and my custom plates were attached! The car runs: RB25DET and 25 gearbox Fmic Gizmo electronic boost controller Apexi Safc2 Turbo timer Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch(fried) 28 spline, Lsd, 3.9 diff 3" exhaust Vx clubsport rims Hothouse green with gold flake (and rust!) Pedders lowered suspension Permitted for engine conversion, rims and pod I bought the Safc2 off mazza, and off went the car to xspeed. I honestly expected around 250hp, but i picked it up with 292.1hp at the wheels! I now have a fried clutch and need to upgrade to an even more heavy duty clutch! I currently have a yellow sticker, so once i get the sticker off, i have some rust repairs booked in at Malaga rust repairs and then hopefully a new clutch soon! Hope you enjoyed the read, i'm sure i'll see all the regulars at the next CT cruise! Alex peace Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Found some old photos of when i first bought it. The car had no calais features, so naturally i was inclined to make my VL a mock Calais! After multiple trips to Rare spares and help from CT members i got my Calais spec on! Also attached is the time sheet from when i went down to the Motorplex at Kwinana, best time of 14.7. That was before the safc2, when my car was running around 200hp...and had the restrictive stock ECU. And now with my Dyno figure of 292hp, i am quite keen to commit runs at the motorplex, but sadly my clutch is fried and university commitments have my attention. Next season hopefully!

Looking mint as man! I'm doing the same engine conversion. Great power, what other mods? Are you running aftermarket coilpacks (splitfires, yellowjackets)? How much boost? Your safc 2 is doing a great job of controlling rich & retard, that is so common in RB25's!

Ink is off to the Rust repair place this monday, so i'll post some pics of the progress as it comes together...and yes some bay pics will be coming! Im just running the standard coil packs atm, havent been any issues yet as the engine has low kms on it! I think ill be quite broke after the rust repair work though...so my plans for a high flowed 25 turbo will be put on hold for a bit.
