I got told by countless shops that they didn't want to work on my car, this was things like electric windows, central, alarms etc though. Most places as soon as you say VL their eyes light up for some reason.

Never really had any issues with my VL but used to cop it often with my Stagea... Found only 2 workshops which would happily work on my old Stagea... all the rest simply said try somewhere else or they would do some research and get back to me which was scary!

I found with my cars and my dads (Vettes) its better off going somewhere that has worked on that type of car before and are happy too again.. You might pay more for it like with dads cars (no one wants to touch them) but they know what they are doing so its done faster and right, being cheaper anyway. But with a basic stock VL part.. its a ****en commodore..

i can understand some things, Removed 3/4 of the post. As if it's not racist Mitcham. as for roadworthies this is also fair enough. a lot of vl's are heavily modified. if a mechanic roadies a vl and then the car (being cop bait) gets pulled up and defected their R/W permit / licensce may be put in jeporady (even if the car was modified after the roady issued.) as for a clutch master cylinder thats a strange thing to refuse.

alot of problems in VL's can be masive headf*cks, taking alot of time and resources to fix. customers don't understand its going to cost so much just to fix a 'minor' problem. that, and as above, it will just break again anyway then customer will be angry at mechanic lol its just not worth the time and effort!

Exactly right. And in regards to this issue of the clutch master cylinder, its all well and good to repair it, but if the guy takes it out that night, thrashes it & demolishes another clutch hes going to come back whinging to the repairer. Business isnt just business, the head **** wouldnt be worth it.
