Hi all.. My names Luke & im from South Aussie/ Adelaide. have been a member for a bit however never posted any thing, mainly used the site as a reference to fix common problems. Great help at times, cheers fellas :-) mind you my last vl was a paddock basher, nothing to be proud of even if i did think it was the Shiz at the time lol. Any way I bought this vl early this year. Its a Series 200. There were 600 built according to the original sales Brochure and it was for Australia's 200th Anniversary. They all were two-tone champagne paintwork, and featured air conditioning, power steering, electric windows, central locking & berlina interior. Not a HSV, i believe HSV's were not even around before March 88, correct me if im wrong. when i bought it its was a grandpa special, only two owners with 130 odd on the clock. Only real changes ive done to it is chuck the rims on from the old VL & put my old Exhaust on.... Future plans is to Turbo the SOB & also install a manual gearbox, however with a little one on the way my plans have been pushed back a little.... i'll get there Would also like a respray (same colour), but the paints not bad as yet. seen worse. just a few blemishes and traces of crowsfeet on the roof. Looks like it had been parked under a tree for ages up close. No rust, actually the littlest in the most common spot............ cken window seal. The old bloke who owned it Had Endrust done to it(An anti corrosive wax based treatment that penetrates all areas from the window line down to prevent rust developing.) he even sprayed the whole of the engine bay & motor in Fish oil!!! bloody old goat. Ill clean it one day but what a prick of a job. Thought id post a few pics from when i got it to what it looks like now. see what fellow VL fanatics think. id be interested to see how many are still around. My mate has one, which influenced me to buy this one in no time when it came up on Ebay. Seen another couple around however they looked very Tired. Hope you like it, Cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

not bad mate. there are a few around but like you said all pretty ratty. i have personally seen at least 3 in wreckers yards around melbourne and 2 on the road. only 1 of those lot was worth looking at. it was a highflowed stocker on 14"s wheels with the 14" beige sl hubbies. ---------- Post added 18-04-10 at 13:24 ---------- OH!!!! and i also saw a prototype for the series 200 once. it was a single colour gold berlina v8 / auto (they were all auto) and it was a test mule for the paint colour. it had vlt / v8 hubcaps but apart from that i cannot remember a heap. the old fella saw me looking at it and thought i wanted to steal it. he said he worked on the production line in the holden plant way back and the prototype was his retiremnt car purchase to tow his a-van around with. twas a very tidy car.
