Hi. I use a 77 1 tonner as a daily tow car. I have an low km RB30 that I would love to repower my ute with. There must be some one who has done this conversion and can share their knowledge and save me some hair. I will have sourced a 5speed box in the next few days but have not yet thought too hard about a diff or radiator etc yet. Please point me in the right direction. Dan

Im just going to ask why an RB30.. unless your going to push a bit of power through it I wouldnt bother because by the time u wire it will be about as useful as a 202. If your doing it simply because you have a low km RB30 on hand I dont recon thats a good enough reason as it's still going to cost a fair bit (wiring being the main cost i think). I would go an inject 5ltr, the mounts can be bought, there are wiring looms made to suit and the end result is much better.

Dan castlemain rod shop do a kit, bolt a turbo on it and you can get a cooler in the front of that with ease as well, wreckers should help out with a loom

Heaps of people have done the conversion. You'll need sump, engine mounts and wiring. You really should turbo it though as your car will weigh a good 200kg more than a VL.
