Guys I've been reading and reading and searching but still have a few questions.
Basically I'm about to do this. The VL (6CLY) is stripped and ready to go. The donor car is VR SS and dropping the Box and Trans this weekend.
1. Now, since I have a pretty beefy Trans, I'm gutting it and putting the parts into a Cable 700. But whats the go with my Engine LOOM and ECU being electronic trans? What can I do? or do I need to source a LOOM from a VN-VP?
2. With using the VL P/S Rack, are the VR SS Headers going to clear, or do they have to be VN
(I've actually been told the ones I have now are actually off a VN GRPA.. there deff not standard, but not like Pacies or anything.)
3. Will the VR V8 Radiator fit the VL or do I need a VL V8 one?
Thanks guys.

1. you will still need to run the vn transmission loom to the tranny for the 4th gear lock up, and few other things that that the ecu needs from the tranny. the ecu is different for the vr because of the electronic kick down compared to the cable kick down vn ecu, u might have to run the vn ecu with vn loom for the cable kickdown tranny., otherwise leave the vr tranny as it is.
2.you defintly need to run the vn power steering rack otherwise it will touch the extractors. i`m sure vr rack is the same. the vn group a extractors will fit into the vl.
3. not to sure about the vr radiator, i think the rubber mount on the side of the vr radiator is different and the bottom pins are in a different location on the vr raidiator, so u will need a vl v8 raditor. and the vr top and bottom radiator hoses will fit straight on to the vl v8 radiator.

not having a go at u or anything, but,
vl racks are not the same as vn ones. i just finished my conversion and it defintly is not the same, also a kick down cable tranny has a different ecu to and electronic kickdown ecu.

vn and vr racks are different at the top of the pinion shaft where the coupling goes on. use a vn on cos it will adapt straight onto you coupling on the vl steering column, plus the vr rack end to tie rod ends are longer, therefore you wont be able to align your wheels. so yeah use a vn one defininitely.( just finished conversion with the vn rack and vr pacemakers and all cleared sweet.
