G'day guys, I'm looking at buying a vr bt1 with ss interior and am just after some specs from anyone that knows them. On the back it has the 185i sticker but the fuel rail covers?(i think thats them)they don't say 185 like I seen in some photos they just say 5000 injection, so has some clown just slapped a sticker on the back or is it for real because when i asked him he just said " its standard bt1" which didnt make sense, he also mumbled it a little. I havent got the vin yet, ill get it if i throw down a deposit, so do i have to ring holden or is there a vr vin decoder somwhere? and at 200000ks has it had it, hes second owner after the police with the person before him he says was a woman seeing as it was bt1 it seemed fine but bt1s have a hard life and would it be past its? I know its a bombardment of questions but I havent dealt with bt1s or v8s before so any helps appreciated.

It'll be 165kw, ignore the sticker unless someone has done some work to it since being a police car VIN won't tell you how many KW auto boxes in them are a bit weak nice cars but they do tend to chew fuel, HWP cars are better looked after than 6 cyl GDs cars so don't worry about the 'hard life' bit

Thanks for the info, I was gonna call him back but he just seemed a bit dodgy, he said he bought the car itself from NSW but was from VIC living in ACT and was selling off all these cars he said he has, and details in the add were different from stuff actually on the car, and after he mentioned he was a mechanic I started to doubt how roadworthy the roadworthy he was going to get would be, because some stuff needed fixing. I'll definitely try and get a vr/vs ss though, after actually being able to get up and close to a 5ltr.
