Running speaker wires to VL front doors.

I neatly installed vr door pods with 6.5inch splits in my sl front doors. But now i need to run the wires..? I dont have central locking so theres no exisintg wires to the doors. At the the moment ive just run it from behind the door skin to behind the door jam trim/rubber, which is a bit dodgey... What have you guys done? Gromets, flexible hose, power window/mirror setup of a calais?
