i read an article recently about a car manufacturer starting to offer turbos for around 85% of the cars they make.small twin turbo engines(6cyl).low capacity around 3lt.direct injection in to the block. they say the benefits are 1 better economy 2 more power 3 low emissions 4 run all day with no prob's the testing was 10min at full throttle, shut off engine(no turbo cool down time) this was preformed in normal weather 1500 times then disassembled for inspection. (turbo)with no.......................................i repeat no wear at all? then they reassembled and held it at full noise till it f@#ked out(block) it took 365hrs for it to die!!!!(no oil changes etc) omfg if its true! they are promoting it as the future of car engines..... what u think? are they full of bull@#$%? n/a's dead for the future?

Wouldn't suprise me... It's been proveen time and time agian with Turbo Diesel engines... All major car manufactures are now producing Turbo Diesel cars and nearly every second car on the road is a turbo diesel! Taken from Wikipedia As with any turbocharged engine, turbodiesels can offer higher specific power outputs, lower emissions levels, improved efficiency and higher refinement levels than their naturally aspirated counterparts.

I'm just saying it would be no suprise that the efficency and reliabilty is greater with a turbo petrol engine as it's been proven with diesel engines.

to answer my own question.....yep its nissan engine. nissan patrol (GU,GQ,ETC)carby turbo, injection turbo models. Do u think it would have better fuel economy than 10.8 lt per 100kms? dosent look like it puts out much power but has a s@#tload of torque! (123BHP@4400RPM-255NM@2400RPM) has anyone ever put one in a vl? most of these engine (from what i just read)are being removed for a v8 conversion. WHAT DO U THINK THE CARS OF THE FUTURE WILL BE?
