hey katsa i just asked a friend who is helping paint the berlina. he has a few hj gts and hq sandmans. he says the same. the original grille in the box is a highly sourced item, and certainly fetch a good price, but the rear window, unless its a coupe window, not worth a great deal.

also talk to mulkers. tell him mitch sent you. he has a mate with some ridiculous collection of cars like torries and hk gts's. tell mulkers (michael) to ask his mate who use to own the v8 vl wagon.

hmmm, personally I'd never pay that when you can get rare spares ones new for $220 or so. There's some people out there that go for originality and having a 'GMH' logo hidden somewhere on the part.

Ha! Awesome. I know a few monaro jerks who would go nuts over that. There are Monaro jerks who just hoard crap like that, will pay you good money just to have it sit in their shed. I will ask a couple that i know. ---------- Post added 23-03-10 at 23:09 ---------- I have heard stories about monaro jerks stealing and swapping components because of build date numbers and **** like that $100 bucks minimum, not sure about the upper end of the market, HK/T/G and GTS stuff is worth more than Prem stuff, but prems have been sucked up in price because monaro jerks now have spare money. ---------- Post added 24-03-10 at 00:10 ---------- A monaro jerk has spoken. lol. Prem are same as normal ones, and are worth 100-150 in NOS condish. Apparently it is the lights and surround that are worth the money, not so much the grills Statesman ones, the two peice centre are the rare sought after ones, and fetch 3-4 times what a kingswood, belmont, premier etc one does. If someone offers you $800, take it!

Its just a joke between a few friends. There seems to be a clicky group of enthusiasts who place more emphasis on part numbers and originality than anything else. They believe that no amount of money can buy a car better than a HK/T/G/Q/J etc. This same group is renowned for fabricating stories about histories, asking exorbitant prices, and creating a false economy(i.e ridiculous and unnecessary hoarding of GTS parts, like really, who needs 20-30 GTS steering wheels?) I guess there are many similarities between vlt owners, and monaro owners. If you frequent swap meets you may have observed it in action. Any monaro parts for sale, and a group of monaro jerks will hoard around your stall to discuss monaros, parts, etc. You would think that they are hens teeth, but they are just a decent looking car, few of which came out with good driveline combo's. Your's is a primo example. There are just a lot of people who make a really big deal out of them, they call each other monaro men, and they seem to be territorial. It is just an amusing observation, not meant to be offensive to anyone. My mate that came up with it has had about 4 HQ coupes, has a HK coupe, as well as a couple of others.

One could see the similarities to a VL turbo owner or any other classic car owner for that matter. I dont take offence to what you've said but I dont go paying out on people for owning a certain type of vehicle (unless it's riced up), and thinking it's the bee's knee's.

Yeah, i realised the similarities after i wrote it, but monaro owners are really in a league of their own. Do you know any 'monaro men'?

As in falcon GT's? My mate calls them Ford jerks. Can't comprehend why people pay so much for 'taxi's'. American's feel the same way.
