throttle body

on the 304.. the hose that comes out of right hand rocker cover that runs to the throttle body, and also the vac lines from the charcoal canister... what happens if they are no longer connected to the throttel body? just wondering coz i have a throttle body i want to fit to my car that does not have these connections... thanks
