Hi, I recently done a v8 conversion on a Vl and wanting to use the pump. now obviously i will need to use a regulator but there is a fuel return on the carby. I just a lil confused as to what to do.. will i need to just join the return off the carby to the return that goes to the tank or run off the regulator and block off the on on the carby if possible?
help please cheers

you probably shouldn't use an efi fuel pump. being a carby you'll only need 5 - 7 psi, an efi fuel pump runs something like 50psi. but you will need to setup a return line even with a carby fuel pump. just have a bypass style regulator on your fuel rail, set it to 6psi, and have the return line go to your tank. off the top of my head the holley regulator part number is 12-803bp

You can do it, i did it when i had the carby running on the rb30. What i had was a fuel reg that would reg pressure down to 7psi, and pass the rest back to the tank. Ran fine.

The holley is an OK reg and will do job just fine. The mallory 3 port though is one of the best on the market. It is rising rate so you can use it if you want to go turbo or blown down the track. Just make sure the return line is bigger when you do the conversion, that way it can control pressure more accurately.
