Why would they pay for a full respray? They'll only repair the damage that was done. If you want the rest sprayed then you need to add cash on top and organise it with the repairer. You can't just say 'well the whole car is stuffed from this damage, spray the lot'... it doesnt work like that.

it doesn't work like that someone from the insurance company comes out and asesses(how ever u spell it) the car and sees whether the quote matches the damage..

The repairer will quote the car, the assessor will come and assess the car, and if they find any unforeseen damage when they start stripping/repairing, they have to take photos or get the assessor out again to have a look at the damage and then add it to the quote. Everything they do has to be proven to the insurance company.

in nsw aami take the car to their own yard and pay for a cab home for you From there they seek quotes from several panelbeaters and if al is ok they then get it fixed. once it's returned to them they notify you and pay for a taxi to get you to their yard to pick it back up

I work in the industry, Insurance company's will only pay for damage affected areas only, nothing more. You can contruibute towards getting additional private work done on the car whilst in for accident/damage repairs. -But be warned changing body colour from factory, you will have to notify your insurance company, or things can get awkward, they must know everything or they can deny a claim. And don't think Insurance companys are stupid all assessors are ex-painters or beaters, and can see what is consistant with a claim, so creating additional damage to your car and trying to pass it off as the claim will get you pinned for "Fraud", I see too many fools try it and get caught out, it's not worth it.
