ive reved mine out to 4500... could go further buh.... i dunno... it just doesnt seem to get up there very easily.. its not revving very freely.. well.. what i mean is it still pulls hard thru the range, but it doesnt rev very quickly which makes it feel like its not revving freely if that makes sense... im not sure how to explain it properly

Typical power output of say a VK Group three is 177kw at 4800rpm and max torque 419Nm at 3500rpm, the meat is in the middle, no point in revving the guts out of third.

Hey, it was saturday night and he reckons it doesnt rev out well, the holden 5.0 wont rev out quick like a four pot and its not much point revving beyond 5 grand, if you want it to rev nicer get a better cam, chip, exhaust, replace the metal clutch fan with thermos, take off the air con belt and maybe lighten the flywheel.

meh... nothing beats hitting rev limiter on the brake in a 5L best sound ever, compared to the nuts ls1 rev limiter. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its still a cast iron 5.0 with similar output, the first thing he needs to do is make sure the thing is tip top with good plugs, leads, air cleaner, fuel filter, computer check and correct timing.

new plugs, leads, air filter, fuel filter, oil change/filter, has thermos not clutch fan, reset computer just last week, has paceys and full exhaust, its manual and its not that im trying to rev it past 5000. as i said up there ^^^ it doesnt feel like its revving very well/easily/freely. both under load and just sitting there in neutral. i do a service on it once a month no matter how many km's i do... and it only has 126000kms on the clock, i look after it i dont give it a hiding constantly everytime i drive it.

must still be one ****in tight motor lol barely run in. id be checking your dizzy and the sensor in it, a mate of mines vs senator went like a bucket of **** and it was this little sensor in the dizzy that caused it to rev slowly and run crappy.
