Hahaha, everything there is straight from the factory, even the shock. Take the hoses to Repco etc and they will be able to replace them with the correct size and length.

I get the picture, pull the fuel pump out, tip the fuel out and stick a torch inside and look for internal rust, if you have internal rust put it out for the next council clean up. If its ok scrub the outside rust with a wire brush then truck wash it, then treat it with septone rust treatment then lay on some black gloss export cheap paint, get new breather hoses from supercheap etc including the main backwash hose.

I've got a question about the breather hoses so i thought i may as well post here rather than make a new thread. I'm guessing my breather hoses are leaking because when i fill the tank anywhere above 3 quarters it pisses out fuel all over the tank and onto the ground. I removed the tank months ago because of a strong fuel smell and i painted the tank and replaced all the hoses with new ones but they were a slightly larger hose and were a bit loose and also had a larger external diametre which made getting the clips back on very difficult. Both repco and supercheap were useless in finding me the right size hose but it was my only option as i needed the car back on the road that afternoon. So i'm guessing the hoses must have slipped off at the tank end which means the tank needs to come out again . can anyone tell me where to buy the right hoses and what is the easiest way to get them on and to stay on while the tank is being put back in. cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You're in Bayside, so if you can go to Bursons on Wickham Rd in Moorabbin during the week they'll definitely have it. Otherwise Repco would be my next bet. I've managed to get these hoses before from Repco. Maybe even consider some new clips.

If anyone needs to know where all the different fuel vapour lines are supposed to go, I have attached a diagram with the layout.

From memory they are 5 and 10mm size hoses. I used GOSS fuel hoses and haven't had any dramas with them.

Yeah, just run down to your local Autopro and buy some new hoses, I had to do the same thing to my VL, you will have to get a rough estimate of how much you will need because they are usually sold by the metre.

found the hoses except for the bigger hard plastic one that goes straight from the filler neck to the tank. may re-use it. cant even get it off there. couldnt find the right fitting anywhere for my bosch 984 external pump to factory dampener/reg so i chose to just run the pump without it. thats alright isnt it?
