Any one know where to get hold of a replacement remote for the factory cobra vl alarm? I've got them off holden before but they tell me they are no longer available, and no I don't want to get an aftermarket alarm.

I've never seen one that doesn't work! If it has no other alarms installed. All you have to do is get the code out of the brain(black box under the dash above glovebox) and get another factory remote $70 I think Robert said, get a key cut for keylock in the glovebox and WALLA! They work on fluctuations in power, so if they go off randomly it is often because the back of the key in the glovebox is loose, or you have a drain on the battery. But all the one I've seen its the key. Also if you have an aftermarket alarm in you calais, you can remove the black box and key and use it in any VL, the wiring is in every one I've seen. All you need is the blackbox, the keylock in the glovebox, and plug in a relay in the carrier hanging out of the wiring loom forward of the fusebox from memory. Then Bob's your aunty remote locking, alarm and immobiliser!!
