Hey guys and girls, this has prob been covered be4 bu I thought this could be a big help to ppl.. I'm looking at getting an vy Calais LS1 in the next month or two and was wonndering if any1 could provide a list of bolt on mods to run an 11 second / 12 second qtr mile pass... I understand all the basic mods: full exhaust and extractors with highflow cats mafless tune with an otrcai 2800 stall convertor 3.9 diff gears have I missed anything? I know that is a very basic list.. All help and feedback would be appreciated!! Any recommendations on workshops?? I know of hpf but that is it!! (not looking to cause a **** fight either) just would like sum help/ feedback, pm me if you want.. Thanks in advance

trust me getting a 11sec pass out of an calais is no easy thing, 232/234 comp cam will get u there, but u will need a 3800-4200 stall and at least 3.7 diff gears and let not forget a well build auto.

apparently with a 35/40 and a few other things to go with it they can do low 10's? anyone confirm?

Not looking at doing turbo... And bst747 thanks for the cam info.. I'm going to have 3.9s I think to get it out of the hole... 4.11s will be over kill.. So u recon a 3800 convertor?? And yeah I understand a built auto and transcooler will be the go..

I would suggest getting some proper suspension 90/10s and some ET streets. The standard stuff isn't too bad not sure if you will hit an 11

I realise I'll need etstreets and be running standard suspension... It will still be my street car, so don't want to go overboard on it!!! I don't think I'll need 90/10s but I might be wrong

I don't think I'll need 90/10s but I might be wrong A 3200 stall, cat back and OTR plus mafless will get you into the 12s on street tyres with no weight reduction and a full tank of fuel. Add a headers and cats should see from 250 to 260. The 2750-2800 stall convertors for a gen 3 are not worth putting in. standard dia torque convertors have too much negitive drive, spend the cash and drop to a 9.5 inch convertor. I have done back to bac testing the dyno and with the standard size convertor unlocked power drops off above stall speed. If you are choosing a cam stay below the 230 range of cams unless you cam get the comp over 11.5:1 my car make 320 with a baby cam and standard throttle body and inlet. bigger is not always better.

My friend has Full exhaust system (1 3/4Headers,Twin 3" high flow cats and 3" cat back.) bigger air intake pipe built auto with 2800 stall 25% under drive pulley kit and has made 251 rwkw few days ago on a dyno add a otrcai with a ls6 manifold and maffless tune should see around 270 maybe a bit less but to run 11s i think you will need a cam and hpf are doing cam packages for around 3.5k but that includes the maffless tune and valve springs too but if you want to shop around checkout aps in Frankston http://www.apsservicecentre.com.au/ and also G&D Performance in Dandenong http://www.gdperformance.com.au/contact.php

I guy I did a bit of work for, runs 11's on a VZ SSZ full street trim, and sometimes has front runners and rear slicks. engine work would be, fast manifold, billet cam, valve springs, OTRCAI with a 6 speed manual to a 3.9's KAAZ diff. would need to confirm this.
