since i have started building my car i seem to be always researching things and over my time i have never really seen anything that jumps out at me its all really seems to be finding a combo that works not designing a combo that works around the conditions you need it to if this makes sence??
ive seen stuff like billet main caps and studd gurdles and there probs the most intense items i have seen ohh apart from a special head used on a melb race car (well the design unit)
anyway i was just looking threw some stuff and at the new gas motorsports car (another titan hand me down) and i came across these pistons sure they do look like flat tops with valve cut outs but my point is has anyone else given rnd like this to try get the rb moving forward do we have race teams giving back info to a company to try bring out products that will push the rb further? please dont show me the os geikon rb30 also not interested

i no there was talk of a major company coming out with a complete strocker kit for the rb30 but that talk was back in febuary last year
WOW nice i was talking about a differnt company a yanky company
so who is going to take the plunge and go with one of these? a set of R.I.P.S over priced billet caps and a gurdle and 1500hp?
altho i did hae a good chat to joe at auto salon about 3.2 and 3.4 cranks in the 2j's he said the 3.4 witch they used when they went to nz was not worth it made the same power as the 3.2 did
anything else?
Whats the price on them spool kits? very nice!
Im never going to buy one but just would like to know.
I was also told about 3 weeks ago some jap company has an aftermaket RB26 block thats 3L, i said to the dude so its an RB30 and he was adamant it was an aftermarket RB26 but 3L.. unsure how that works?
But in reality it just fills the oil and filter with paint.
What is the difference between the rips girdle and the factory one? (Assuming you meant a main stud girdle)

Sure is, they have been doing it in the valley of V8's for as long as i can remember. and it's not paint, it's resin, and would it come off?? lol maybe with a chisel and a hammer.
Interesting topic ank, most vl owners are more than happy to be sheep and just use what everyone else has used a million times before. As for the strokers, I've never really seen any major gains from them in any configuration when talking turbo'd engines, in theory it should be the percentage increase by the percentage you have increased the cubes, but that never happens, better to work on effeciencies.

the 3.2 n 3.4 both run a billet crank so price would be the same to build them
unless u run the reground STD crank stroker 3.2 then it would b cheaper to go 3.2
the billet 3.4 crank runs STD size 3lt rods also
More interested to hear about the special head on the melb race car.
If its who i think it is, is it actually true or is it a urban legend, pm me if you want.
cheers
