Not having ago just trying to get a picture of whats behind it? Well... In the last couple of years my link ecu has F***ed out 3 times & neither link or the tuning shop admitted fault they just blamed each other so that cost me heaps, Ive blown 3 gearboxes & clutches but as you know Ive upgraded that & done a one piece driveshaft its eaten about 10 nissan ignitior packs & ive been through half a dozen coils & then my bov had issues so got a new one of those & got a new plenum made for it but when I put it back together it wasnt running very well so back to the tuning shop it went (a new shop that is) & 3 weeks a link ignitior & $1700. later it made it to powercruise but now I have a big crack In my manifold & my diff is whining again & I only got that rebuilt about 6 months ago.. not to mention ive upgraded my turbo & ignitiors a while before that & that required a external wastegate that was 1k without even fitting it basicly Im at the point of being afraid of getting out of the garage incase something else breaks, I just want something more reliable ect.....

Owning a vlt and spending money on it go hand in hand from my experiance, anyone that owns one and has the vision of doing a few mods getting some good power and then expecting new car reliabilty is kidding themselves. But in saying that it is half the fun in owning one and getting it to a point where you are happy with it! fair enough you could drop in a ls1 v8 or sumthing and have alot better reliabilty but to me it is no where near as appealing! but each to there own i guess. the decision lies with you man!

Drop a stock 304 injected V8 in it, they're cheap, reliable and go well in a VL

A stock 304 auto with bolt ons should make around 150rwkw and will be bulletproof for years. However if your after more power than that they aren’t cheap engines to modify

You can make that sort of power easily with forced induction on a stock motor if your prepared to spend the money upfront. Mine made 250rwkw on 6psi on a stock motor without a cooler. Boost that up to 10psi and add a cooler and you'll get 300rwkw and still the stock motor will be fine Edit: you need to think about gearboxes also, autos are cheap, but f you want to go manual you'll need a Getrag or T56 to handle that sort of power, which again isn't a cheap option
