Spend some money... get some Kenwood XS-1720P. They are THE best value for money shallow mount speaker. I'm an installer, i recommend them to everyone (even if they dont need shallow ones). They use a different material for the magnet and thus allows a much much smaller magnet size, also a slightly different design to converntional speakers but the bass reproduction is amazing and top sound quality just off deck power. Put these puppies off an amp and you wont need anything else ever.

how much are these speakers and are they splits? im also an installer and prefer the new mb quart splits, they have an unbelevably small magnet and sound awesome, they do lack some mid bass though... but a sub will make up for that Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What is your budget? ADICTIV is on the right track with a set of MBQ. I use to have the old Q series 6.5 splits and the midbass was fantastic and had very shallow mounting requirments. They were quite expensive speakers but if you want nice speakers there great. I have some brand new C5-650 Jl Audio speakers here I am looking to sell. I am pretty confident you would get them into the doors without building door moulds. These also very nice speaker set with great midbass and smooth tweeter. let me know if your interesed. goodluck with it anyhow

The Kenwoods are about $300-370 depending on where you buy them from. They RRP for $399 EDIT: Yes they are splits! Look them up on the kenwood site. Well worth the money.

Haha yeah i know man, but most peoples budgets dont allow for $1600 just for splits ;-) Hence my comment "Best value for money". I wish i could afford even the cost price for the MB's but at the end of the day i'm happy with the sound i can get from the kenwoods. Where do you work anyway mate? I'd be keen to catch up with you for a chat... just recently moved back up to Perth and trying to meet people into car audio!

Are you talking about the new ones or the older versions? They had the same or similar part number. At the end of the day it does come down to each to their own... I am giving my opinion taking into consideration, Value, Size, Sound Quality & output. Rather than just bagging something out, why don't you give your suggestion and reason/s.

Just a tad longer than me then. I've done about 5-6years in Australia started just after the Gov Rebate stopped. Was in UK previously! I think i may know you actually... Quote: Originally Posted by ADICTIV should catch up with u on next cruise, one of the other blokes that comes is also installer.
