Go to a dealer. It will cost you appox 20 bucks. But you have to go to one who knows that sort of car.(do you have a muscle car or classic car sales?)They will write one out and keep a copy for themselfs incase of theft.I had to get an Aussie evaluation(from pics I sent)as well as 2 kiwi evaluations for my insurance.

When mine was under restoration it was only costing me 48 bucks a year for full value,It is insured for numbers matching,That way even if the motor is taken I am cover for full value.

Sweet if you have a genuine Brock or HSV because you can easily justify the value, but It's a hard thing to cover modified cars because of the amount you put into them that you never get back when it's "valued" or sold I ended up having an agreement with Vero that they pay out the cost to rebuild mine to the same standard if it was crashed or stolen. We agreed on replacement cost of $50,000 and it cost me around $1,200 per year. That's also grouped with my company which has 8 cars on the same policy so maybe that made a difference

I also had to show cars that were close to mine and what they had sold for. Australian muscle car site helped me with that.

hey guys,im dragging this thread out and dusting it off. Trying to insure the VL calais is proving to be an issue. Matt maybe if you could pm me who, what when how the insurance you had? They seem to not know what it is,as Calais also didnt come out manual, but all they have in thier "faultless computer system" is an Auto 3litre non turbo, and say mines worth 2 grand tops,Not much good to me,and you can imagine what i told them to do with that figure. Anyway, who are you guys(Danny,Simon, etc) with?Agreed value? Also this car is daily driven so guess its more of a risk, aswell as living in south Auckland. any help would be awesome thanks guys
