Hey all !
I have been wanting a custom boot for a while now, and i think i want to do it - myself.
All i want is my single sub to be isolated, and my two amps to be displayed, with some g a y arse LED lights to make it look pretty.
I want to maintain some boot space for obvious reasons, so preferably I would like to make this division just before or just after that rise in the boot flooring, if you understand me. Does anyone have a copy of a template that would make my life easier? I wish to make it all myself, but I dont know where to start!
Sorry if this is too brief, but please help me out! cheers

its not too hard to do a full custom boot yourself, but you need to be patient, and have the right tools.
i'd recommend getting some large flat sheets of cardboard to use as templates. (make your own, or it will never fit right).
you need to use a compass with the needle removed, and a pencil, to trace outlines of the boot surfaces... this is hard to explain but i'll try.
say for example your making a side panel that follows the curve of the wheel arch and extends back to the taillight...
Get a flat sheet of cardboard, hold it up against the beginning of the curve, then get your compass so that the side where the needle was is sitting on the wheel arch, and the pencil is on the cardboard. slowly, and gently run the compass down the curve. the pencil will clone the outline onto the cadboard and you can cut that section off.
Then slide the cardboard a little closer and do it again.
repeat this process a couple of inches at a time until the cardboard marrys perfectly with the wheel arch. then do the same with the back panels, (lights etc.)
this gives you templates for the ends of the panel. Then just measure the distance between them and you can make up that panel. then sand it by hand till it fits perfectly.
Take into account what your trimming with...
leave about 3mm gaps between panels for carpet, 1-2mm for vynl... but if your painting, it has to fit perfectly
to do a full boot properly, (false floor, sub box, all panels, trimming etc.) you'll need a bench mounted ripsaw, jigsaw and a router and preferrably nail gun, air sander and trimming tools (spray adhesive, knife, heat gun etc)
hope thats enough to get you started.
if u have any other questions post em up here.
AJ.
