After seeing me go through VL's like I go through women my dad has just bought his first VL, Its a 1 owner, 3L, 5 Speed, Wagon in white, with color coded white bumpers. its done 320000km so its a little worse for wear, but already its being prepped for paint and hes got the lifters out on the kitchen table cleaning them out.
His plans are to de-badge it, smooth over the holes in the headlight panel, and put a set of VS Calais wheels on it.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Simply put, your Dad is the F*CKING MAN!!!
What got him into VLs?
My Dad hates VLs, calls them 'scabby old grandad cars' and that he want his garage back for his ute!
This all started because I wanted a parts car, The first owner of this car was our neighbour back in 1988-1989, and he hung around in the same circles as dad, Dad knew that this wagon had failed its WOF and got parked up, so he went to see if he could get it for me to use as parts. the owner had a complete 2L manual wagon as well, so i bought that for parts, and because dad wanted a station wagon for odd jobs he bought the white one.
Nah, its only going to be used to pick things up and go to the dump. only change will be to fix the leaking rocker cover gasket and quieten the lifters up.
OH ...... MY...... GOD LMFAO at the starfire hubcaps....was the first thing I noticed.....aaaaaawwwwwwwww stunning......thats hallarious.....love it!!!!!

Mum and Dad had a VL for a taxi back in the day. Just a 2.0L one but it did 551,000 until they sold it!!! And the engine had never been out of the vehicle. Thats what got me into VL's...
