Any good workshop will sort you out. Personalyl for that power Id go a plugin Vipec V44 - excellent computer, and dont go autronic they WERE great but they are old and outdated now. Id use 1000cc rochester injectors at $85 a pop they are great value and will happily run at a low 220rwkw and still have plenty of head room to go much much higher.

vipec and link look identical and have identical features. The vipec VL plugin is slightly better then a V44, as it has 6x injector outputs in low impedance peak and hold injectors, and 6x ignition outputs, so you can run sequential injection and 6xcoils, opposed to the v44s 4x ignition and injection and they are also high impedance only

Look as everyone knows im a motec man, more than enough to do anything you ever could need as well as future power ups without a hassle. Im a firm believer you get what you pay for period. However the real question is not only what is your budget, but most importantly - "How fast do you want to go?" however - find your workshop and tuner, and then maybe go with the ECU they are best at tuning, provided you have done your homework of course.

Wow, I think everyone may be missing I vital piece of information. What is the car going to be used for? Is it just a street car that just requires coils and injectors to be driven? Are you going to drag race or use the car on a track? Manual, auto etc. There are many great ECU's on the market, most of them with heaps of features. But instead of "which ECU is best for me" let us know what you require from your ECU. If its just Control my injectors, Then sell your 036's as the only have half an ohm resistance and get something the will run with nistune.

So true thanks, the car is going to be used for mostly street but i will be on the occasion taken on the strip as i live in Albury/Wodonga (no strip here), it is an auto, I don't know what the functions are for ecu's and how much they can do what would be great for me would be something that can have a couple different programs so it can be changed to get different power outputs from the car i.e sreet setting/strip setting My budget is as follows i have $4000 to do fuel/ecu and hopefully have a little left to help my with rego Quote: Originally Posted by HYPED6 Wow, I think everyone may be missing I vital piece of information. that should cover it mate. $200 for an 044 pump, $70 for a standard intank pump which is plenty, $200 for a surge tank. $$500 for injectors and $200 for a rail. $1200 should cover the cover the fuel system. $2000 installed should get you a decent ecu. $800 will get u ur rego. DONE!

Whose tuning it? Ask your tuner what he prefures and be done with it. If I was going to do it in a VLT.. Haltec or MoTeC

truth be told youll never be happy with what you have hence the 2 x044, you may aswell go the 2 now and save yourself from hasles later on. As for injectors id prob sell the 550's you have and go 1000's Link is the brand of ecu id opt. for if you were to go a plug in ecu. Or autronic if you were to go whole hog in my opinion I can get you 044 at 190 each and 1000's for 72 each lift pumps 100 bux ( pierburg (intank) But as said speak to your tuner. If you need a good one call 9469 2566 hell be able to help you with tuning etc

hopefully not too far off topic is there an alternative to a new intank vlt pump to feed a surge tank ? im looking for a lil more insurance than that and i wanna know whats involved in swapping up to a bigger intank pump can you get something thats a straight swap that flows more ? cheers

You can take the internal pump out & just get the feed tube extended and put a carter lift pump on the outside of the tank somewhere..

You want a lift pump in the tank, not a pressure pump, to feed the surge tank. AC Delco used to sell a high volume direct fit pump for the VL, but i'm not sure if they still do it.
