OK so im just about finished everything on my vl the last thing to do is bleed the brakes because i got the master cylinder reco'd so i bled all the brakes in the corect order ect.. still no brake pedal. then i bled the master cylinder, then re bled each calliper still no brake pedal.... ive removed the master cylinder to check if I have knocked off the reaction pad, but its definatly in there now im stuck and its doing my head in! What next? Maybe my procedure of bleeding the master wasnt correct? no fluid leaks anywere either? any help would be much appreciated cheers Jay

And the master cylinder just got reco'd with new seals and everything. When the pedal goes to the floor, are the brakes engaging at all ?? With Engine off, press brake pedal hard, while still pressing brake pedal, start the engine and see if the pedal drops a bit. If it doesn't drop at all booster is stuffed If pedal drops a bit than your master cylinder is sus

Unfortunately when it comes to bleeding brakes getting all the air out of the system can be a real pain.. All the advice i can give you is, use he correct proceedure by bleeding the M/Cylinder first, then bleed from the furthest brake caliper/wheel cylinder from the M/cylinder and work your way back to it, ensuring that your connections are tight and when you do each bleed nipple up that its done up TIGHT before releasing the brake pedal or moving to the next caliper.... Some times it takes ages just to get that last bit of air out.. Some things that might be a problem is that the hose your connecting to your bleed nipple may not be sealing properly... or the bleed nipple itself may be worn and not sealing against the seat properly when you lock it off.. Also even though the M/cylinder has been rebuilt it doesnt necessarily mean its ok... It only takes a miniscule nick in the plunger rubber or a score/burr in the bore to make it fail.. If you have access to a small compressor try and get your hands on a vac bleeder... Makes it go that much faster and it means you dont have to have someone pumping the pedal all the time.. Hope that helps.. Lockey

Thnx guys but I'm gona pull the master cylinder off iv bleed the master, then the correct procedure with the calipers, triple checked all connections are tight. We used a bleeder bottle last night and we did one caliper for 25 mins and still **** loads of air comming out, I'm guessing te brake place ****ed it when they re sleved it And all nipples are new aswell and mike, the pedal just goes to the floor so u can't tell if it drops or not cos it's already on the firewall

I remember when I rebuilt my whole brake system we had to bleed and bleed and bleed x50. Air was just constant, but we kept to it and eventually it came good. I never bled the master cylinder at first either as I wasn't sure at the time if you had to. Pumping the pedal with all bleeder bolts tight doesn't build any pressure whatsoever?

is there brake fluid coming out of all your calipers when your bleeding them or is it just constant air ? I just bled mine and it took 3 bottles to get the air out, used New master cylinder and lines etc. Also helps if you have someone that knows how to pump the pedal properly

Pumping the pedal with all bleeder bolts tight still has no pressure at all fluid come out at each caliper, but **** loads of air in the clear tube to the bleeder bottle. And it sea like it's gettn less air after a bit them itl just start pumping **** loads of air through again master cylinder is off and am going to try and bench bleed it at work today then try again. Fingures crossed

when i did my mates MR2 when he built it, all brand new, never had fluid through it from master cyl to body lines to everything... what we did was get a large pump from supercheap, taped up the 1 man bleader hose thigny to the end and sucked fluid through it til it was bublble free, starting at the furthest to the closest, then it took just a little bit of puming (no engine running) and it was perfect, if that dont work, take it to an expert...
