hate my life.. went to the knox city car thing they run down there every 2nd tuesday of the month. didn't even make it to the car park before getting canaried.. i pull into knox city and spot a silver VE watching the cars come in, as soon as i spot this car i turn left purely cause i know they love vl's. i then get about 50m into another car park and look in my mirror to spot the silver VE. lights go on and the party started. surprisingly i didn't get done for all that much but ended up being 2 rear tires (still have tread indicators though?) and my wood grain steering wheel.. no RWC required which is good but i still managed to loose 3 points in the process. for the record it was our favorite Knox cop. will not mention the name. just a warning to those who head to the show on a Tuesday, be careful.

Lucky no roady required but sucks about the points. With the tyres the indicators have nothing to do with road worthiness, it's a tread depth measurement that the law is based on.

Still **** though, cruz down to check out some cars and that happens. the last thing you want... the jacks are always around at the knox shows watch'n everyone scrape over the first speed hump as you roll in...

ohh ok either way i have heaps of depth left in the tread as my old man is pedantic about having good tires. i got off pretty good i must admit. most of the people know the particular policeman im refering to and know he is pretty up todate with modifications e.g boost controllers etc. he popped my bonnet and noticed my pod filter and also the line running from my actuator to the cabin where my boost controller was. however in the defect notice neither of them were an issue. only tires and wheel. i lost points for driving a turbo car on my P's. legally im not allowed to but hopefully my boss will write me an exemption letter saying i was delivering something for work.. see how i go i spose.

he didnt say anything about it? wouldn't they have to warn me or something? eithery way i have an airbox setup and can get hold of a standard exhaust so shouldnt be too much of a problem i hope? in the end of the day. the car is only taken out on weekends as i have a ke70 daily. just inconvenient really.. its been a year and a half of driving my vlt and never had a problem until now

Most EPA's are surprises. Basically everything needs returning to standard so no boost controller too, other than that if its stock it should be ok.

progmh my car is stock minus the boost controller, and 3inch exhaust (not overly loud) and the air cleaner.. oh and a cam. dunno if the cam effects it? LUVMTL yeah cheers mate. i have never recieved a fine in 2 years of driving.. i was just heading down there to check out the cars and copped it. ahwell. there are worse off people.

cheers guys. i definently will not be driving my vl over summer.. the daily will now be the fulltimer =) so im expecting an epa in the mail, im just curious.. will my car effect the epa? emissions wise? and does anyone see it plausible that my exhaust will pass a sound test? its a 3inch from cat back. cat has been hollowed (will change it for epa) and running 1 muffler at the rear.. any help would be appreciated. cheers

PSIWGN The epa test will cost ya 78 bucks first and if you fail next time is 38 bucks. The 3 in exhaust I had on my vlt was 98db the limit is 90db. I put a stock vl 6cyl exhaust on from cat back and just passed at 90db. Hope you dont get it in the mail but just some advise.

Sounds like he is starting to get a bit more leniant these days. He used to pretty much major everyone. if you get an EPA, just get hold of a standard exhaust from the wreckers and fit it up. Stuff the muffler full of steel wool and it will be quiet as. Then you can store the exhaust for next time.
