Today i had to get a pink slip for my new vl turbo (rwc). I went to my usual person who passes anything but he was not in. So i went to a random workshop too see how it would go knowing that it has 18s, and a hole where the airbox is ment to be for the intercooler piping.
They did a full inspection and said that a couple of the bushes are worn out and "you didnt have that steering wheel on when you came here". They didnt mention anything about the hole or my 18s???
What are the laws regarding holes in engine bay? All it has is that black plastic tubing around the edges of the hole im not sure what its called.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Pink slips are such bull sh!t these days.. Some places honestly go way too deep with the inspection.. You might as well get a blue slip done whenever you get your registration renewed!!!
As far as i know regarding your question, you can cut holes in the engine bay as long as it doesnt affect any structural strength of the vehicle.. But an engineers certificate isnt a bad idea just to cover your behind..

i had to weld a ring around my hole's mate for engineer paper's, guess sorta to make it bit stronger around it not sure tho

yeh thats right big ev.... it has to be done the reinforce the body because after cutting the hole it has made it a weak point and can crumble easier if in an accident... thats straight from my engineers mouth... same guy as evan!!

i haven't seen anyone knock a car back yet for it but if u get caught and defected you'll have to do it!! my car got defected for other issues and i had to do it just for the engineering.
