hey everyone, im one of those long time readers but only just got a pay email adress (work email) so i could finally join and post. any way my names dave i live about 400km north of perth and i own a 1987 vl berlina turbo. i brought this car off ct less than a year ago. When i got it car had rb25det, r33 turbo box, brass button clutch, light weight fly wheel, microtech ltx12s, high flowed turbo, 4.11 28 spline mini spool diff, and usual other mods. also has calais interior and full blue respray. when i first got it. SPEW!! the kit was the first thing to go, got brand new bumpers and moulds and went with blue over silver. at the panel shop working long into the night While the car was off the road i made an order with plazmaman, i got plenum, 78mm throttle body, 800hp 600x280 pro series intercooler and all new i.c piping. Then trailered it to rotomotion and got a tune made 320rwhp on 12psi next thing was the big 272 cams. me and a group of mates made the trip down for c4c and the monday after while we were still in perth got the car into rotomotion again for the cams to be fitted and tuned. They had problems with the car breaking down on the dyno found the big bosch coil packs were shot so they replaced them with bosch's new items, and car made nearly 350rwhp then drove the 440kms back home.... when i got home excited to show everyone i popped he bonnet and to my supprise there was smoke pooring out of the filter on the cam covers after driving the car around for 2 days i couldnt deal with the smoke acctually coming into the car. so i pulled the motor out and this is where im at.... i always had the plan to rb30det the car so i thought now was the perfect time. iwas going to build the motor myself untill grunter01 put his motor up for sale: prept rb30 block nitrided crank dowls removed from crank acl race bearings mains, big ends crank collar with grub screw n1 oil pump new water pump spool h-beams rods arp 2000 rod bolts wiesco custom 25/30 pistons 7.8-1 total seal gapless rings cometic head gasket rb25 head convertion performance valve springs 65 pound on seat adjustable cam gears keford billet cams 272deg 9mm lift (intake/exhaust) non vct porting and pollishing intake and exhaust (12 hours) 1mm over sized stainless intake/ exhaust valves arp head bolts iam now buying this and putting it in with the turbo setup and injectors and rail he also has for sale: 6 boost manifold billet t72q turbo (bullet ported) heat shield progate 45mm waste gate 4" inlet with pod 4" dump pipe all new^^ While i have the enigine out ill be smoothing and painting the bay also hiding most of the wiring. Random pics sorry about all of the bad quality pics, i will get some recent ones with a proper camera soon. Thanx for looking let me know what you guys think!! looks like a pretty cool build. just get some nice wheels and tidy up the body and you'll have a winner! also, stay far away from limiter....

hey guys finally an update its only small but its something...we finally started cleaning up the bay and smoothing and welding up all the holes at my mates work (pannel beater). a start on the right side and what we faced.. we found this when we tried knocking this bit back into shape, the dark bits that look like we missed with the grinder are acctually cracks in the metal. (someone had tried to fix it before and the welding and worksman ship was shocking) so we did this ... and after filling the hole and smoothing the tower as we left it today. the holes we filled in the fire wall, running all wires out where heater hoses used to come out...(to the left of pic) and finally inside the car where the old fan, heater and a/c boxs used to be, so much room there would recomend to do it if you dont need your fan Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
