I mentioned in the nzchat thread a few weeks ago bout aucklandmotorsport.co.nz im mates with one of the organisers behind it and its growing in popularity real fast. Anyways ill cut to the chase, they are organinsing a cannonball run on the 9th of January 2010. Will start from Albany down to Hampton Downs , then to Tauranga , to Rotorua and Porrirua , Bombay and back to Albany. Its rated on a points system , and will prob have well over 100 cars plus as entries are still coming in. There is a link on thier website with all the details and entry etc. Since the cruise ideas never seem to happen or show any real interest on here in the past , maybe getting a few vl's entered could be a plan ??? leave it up to you guys ... cheers Matt

hey my honda hasnt got enough power to have a beeR limiter on it! i plan to have the vl motor starting up next week, suck on that!!!!

bump !! well its rolled around and the big day is this Sat 9th , 600km plus and upto 100 cars from Dodge Charger to smart cars and Aston martins and ferrarri etc. Would be good to see some other VL's there too...

Well CannonBall Run went off in a big way today all 119 cars and 700km later. Mine was the only VL and the only early generation commy for that matter. Had all sorts of cars AC Cobra rep, gt40 kit car, Clubsports, even a xu1 Torana, VW Golfs old and new , A Frerrari 348 , various American classics, even a 57 Chev which blew its cutom alumium radiator. The day started off from Albany to Hampton downs and then to Tauranga and the Mount , then off to Rotarua and back north tto Pairoa then Bombay to Albany. left 8am and returned 830pm. Everyone was giving info packs and had to do various missions and challenges along the way. The cops collected some nice revenues along the way from what I heard but was a awsome day out with people from all walks of life and ages.
