hey everyone just bought a new Calais and have noticed the power steering is noisy not squealing or anything but the noise they always make, hard to explain but if you own a vl you will know the one lol. all 3 of my vls have made the noise but the new Calais just seems louder, fluid level is fine but just wondering if anyone knows if its more likely to be the pump or rack ? belt has been replaced. don't think its leaking but haven't had a real good look as level looked fine

Is it noisy under load or all the time?

prob bearings or cavitation if the noise is comming from the pump. Does it shudder?

Most likely just worn, replacments are not expensive. I have got away with using this treatment before but I can not remember what it is called. Its real thick like honey and actually works, Someone might be able to elaberate on this for me.

If you work at Pedders you should be able to diagnose it! Sounds like the belt needs tightening or replacing.

I dont work at pedders but where I do work we get parts from pedders. the belt doesnt need tightening or replacing I just replaced it along with the other 2 and it was making the noise before I replaced it.
