I'm looking at buying a new intercooler, just wondering what should I go for and what do you use. or recommend? Also what would you go for Tube & Fin, Bar & Plate, Hybrid or Delta fin? I was going to buy another monza m-spec intercooler(tube & fin) but I'm not sure. Also which has the best results, your opinion. Thanks. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

how much power are you chasing?

700 odd hp out of whonxt with a ebay cooler i dont think power has much to do with it these days maybe a question like "how cold would you like you intake temps" would be more appropriate

^ True, people are so one-eyed when it comes to brands.

Where have most of you guys found tuners stop pushing boost in as far as intake temps go?

21-22psi on premium

the higher the intake temp will require more ignition retard to ward off detonation, to much retard will increase egts. there are too many variables, as long as the cooler cools well and has low pressure drop i dont think you can go wrong, unless your going for outright hp and want the best cooler

at the end of the day you pay what you get. if you're not going too hectic a hybrid will do

ANK - I would like the air temp to be cold as possible. Well, I we be chasing horse power but I was told the tube & fin actually cools better than bar & plate and has less psi drop. I not to sure what to go for, but I've been told by friends that bar & plate cools better. Please help me make a decision. And any recommendations on the best intercooler(type) available. Thanks.

HDi GT spec or RS, Garret, the real HYBRID inteercooler..., how about a water to air intercooler? it will give you less psi drop. Sky is the limit my man

I remember a thread on this about 2 years ago. If you search bar and plate vs tube and fin you will find a really decent thread. But I believe the consensus was that bar and plate was good for drag racing where tube and fin was good fro around the street.

HDi GT spec uses this design, it sounds good
