H sun reports today that vls are the most stolen model of cars again this year. in victoria there were 456 stolen; 80 not recovered. link to dtory - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/vic...-1225780171335 (http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/parts-cash-driving-car-theft/story-e6frf7kx-1225780171335) this is why all vl owners need some car security

racv last year said we held positions 1,2 and 3 1987 - most stolen 1986 - 2nd most stolen 1988 - 3rd most stolen EA falcon - 4th truely ****ed statistics for us hey, and honestly they are such claggers of a car why don't they steal something worth cash, out of those 450 od cars stolen prolly 20 of them were actually worth anything

in my opinion, 60-70% of stolen cars are done just for joy rides...

We need car trackers and sms alert pagers installed, they are easy to rip off and the scums drool over parts they can $ell, pitty they will never own their own decent one.

this has been going on for years. its nothing new. vls are easy to steal and its still a big market. in a suburb where you can have a set of 15x6"s with tyres taken from your car and the car left on blocks you are never going to be 100% safe. i always ask owner's of stolen cars what security they had most often they never reply.... serious problem guys you can't own one of these without some sort of security. where possible you should also atempt to get something which will alert you when its broken into, because the sad truth is you cannot rely on nyone else to stop it. when was the last time you or someone you saw inspected a car with an alarm going off?

What do you guys think of these not impossible to get through but has to be a decent detterent you'd think and can easily be kept in the boot..... http://www.barsec.com.au/eMerchantPr...FQEupAodUxqY3Q (http://www.barsec.com.au/eMerchantPro/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=122&idproduct=81&gclid=CObHkMTRm50CFQEupAodUxqY3Q)

To my understanding most cars stolen from houses especially kept in driveways are broken into first and then pushed out on to the street where they then try to start the car as not to make noise so close to the house and wake someone up. This i believe would prevent this to a degree you would have to make some noise to remove this to enable you to push the car out onto the street... And yeah your wright it's only as good as the lock you use but if your car is your pride and joy then i cant see getting the best padlock money can buy a problem....
