hey, starting to strip my car in preperaion for a full retoration (clean bay, etc) and i want to remove the heater unit (fan, ac, box, etc) and replace it with a simple demister unit just to do the windscreen. I know it can be done because a bloke that lives nearby did it to his VB show car. I am unable to getr in contact with this guy and have been trying to look up info on doing this for a while. Just wondering if anyone has done this or knows anything about theses aftermarket units. thanks for reading

No dont do it, I once owned a car with out a heater, the worst thing I ever did. It will be a bigger pain in the ass than its worth. You wont miss it till its gone.

the car will not be driven daily mate, an i'm not looking at getting rid of the heater entirely, just dont want the original one. also, if anyone has the duct work that goes between the heater fan and that heater box of a VL that didnt have A/C and they are looking at selling it i'd be very interested.
