oh yeah sweet so the intercooling piping for the t3 would go straight on to 3540?

No it wont.
You need 2 X 10mm spacer plates and much longer studs. You may also need to hack your engine mount a little bit and get a pipe made up to join to the piping you have already. A custom fab place will knock one up no worries. If you can, try maching one of the spacer plates on an angle so it angles the turbo away from the side of the block.

2 x 10mm plates? Why not use 1 x 20mm?
You'll also need to get a new dump pipe made up and also fit an external wastegate to the exhaust manifold if the turbo isnt an internally gated one

is the much clearance to rail and block? anyone got pics?

23-09-09, 13:05 GMT+10#10 GT30 on a AVO manifold which keeps it in the stock position anyway. Compressor covers are the same anyway. Need to slightly notch the engine mount to clear the inlet pipe too

23-09-09, 19:37 GMT+10#13 PSI086 - He was asking about a gt3540 on a STD exhaust manifold
I used 2 X 10mm spacers because thats what was available. Thats with a .7 Front, Internal Gated, and as PSI086 said, you will need a custom made dump pipe.
You can see in the first pic how much engine mount I hacked off, but it was still given the ok to use. Hope this helps.

GT30 has the same housings with smaller wheels fitted and the AVO manifold is a direct replacement for the factory cast one so everything is the same as what it looks like you have done with your set up.
Theres also a little casting which sticks out off the block which needs to be ground back too otherwise when you tighten everything up it pushs the compressor cover into the wheel

24-09-09, 19:25 GMT+10#16 PSI086 - Sorry mate, was under the impression the AVO exhaust manifolds stuck out a little more from the block giving it a little more extra clearance. I also grinded some off the block a little to give it a bit of extra room.
Fiesldy88 - I got my lines cusom made $200, look exactly like orginal and my dump pipe was made for $80, you will also need that plate that sits on the back of the turbo, around the $20 - $30

It's a genuine garret 35/40 with a 1.06 rear housing. Running 15psi with the usual mods, just waiting for funds to build a new auto before i wind the boost up to 20psi. ecu, injectors, cam blah blah
