Has anyone done this? I have the instructions from the workshop manual so the steps are there. Just wondering how long it should take and if there's anything I should know that might not be in the manual. Where the manifold meets the block at the front is quite wet and my coolant level is slowly going down, so I'm guessing either the manifold is corroded or the gasket is stuffed. The car has done 299xxxk's and I'm pretty sure the motor has never had work done on it, so it could be either, I'm hoping just the gasket. I'm looking to do this sometime between now and Christmas, just want to be armed with as much knowledge before I start so I can do it in good time, and do it right. I'm fairly handy with the tools so not going to pay someone to do a job I can do myself, plus labour would be a killer for my wallet. All helpful info appreciated.
Cheers.

Should be pretty simple. Once the old gasket is off and the surface is clean, should go straight on... just do all the bolts up evenly.
Also, check the water jackets, if there too corroded, would be worth buying a new one.
overall, it should take the better half of a sunday afternoon.

Cheers, I'm anticipating a day and maybe 1/2 a carton, lol. Most of the drinking will be after the job is done too be sure it's not f#cked up.

just got to make sure the gaskets stay on properly as they can move quite easily, I usually put a lil bit of gasket goo on the rear piece as I find I always knock it when trying to fit the manifold. If you take out the dizzy it would make it easier but then you gotta put the dizzy back, just make sure the surfaces are nice and smooth before you slap it back on.
