use the search button man , theres a few threads covered on this ... but quickly if your opting for 280-350 , alot of people do this on a standard bottom end , in saying that its only if your on a budget keep the single cam head, power figures and stats show you thats fine for the power your after , twin cam heads are a little bit more tricky to fit etc etc

RB25 heads are easier to install because all of the journals match perfectly, if your on a cheap budget.

learning at home is easy i practically did everything to my engine for a re-build except for machining and acid dipping. but if this is ur first re-build get a workshop manual to look at it for torque wrench specs etc and where the piston rings gaps sit etc etc. Make sure u mark everything extactly where u got it from unless ur putting something new in to replace it. mark bolts where they came from, screws where they came from,con-rods what number cylinder they were sitting in and the con rod caps keep them with the same con-rod and they will have numbers on the side of them u have to kepp matched up, the pistons and the order they were sitting in the block, etc etc the workshop book is going to help u heaps to rebuild the motor, and again lol dont forget to label everythign !! unless bein replaced. cause i have seen people not numbering rod bolts and when they go to put the block together they wonder why some bolts arnt fitting to the con-rods or why the bolts are stripping when they go to tighten them up, cause there in the wrong order.
