i got a quote for having my vr calais rear seat modified to fit in my vl.. and for how simple the job is i think the quote i received was too steep. so im thinking about doing it myself.. i know with the bottom part its just a matter of trimming the foam and then covering it back up with the trim.. i know the same needs to be done with the rear/back part but im not sure what else has to be done. so basically im just wondering if anyone has ever done it themselves?

I have put a VN Calais back seat into a VL. There is a little more than just the foam. You will need to pull the material off, remove some foam, bend and remove 1 row of the thin metal wire (there was 2 rows close to each other - the outer one was *just* too much). Then put the material back on and crimp the metal clips back on in such a way that the material doesn't sag. If you don't mind closing the doors a little hard - you might be able to get away with just trimming the foam all the way back to the first row of metal wire. For us, it was a trial and fit. trim some more, trial and fit. trim some more... etc.
