hey guys i was having this problem before i rebuilt my 308 (only it was worse before), where when i would come upto a set of lights etc to stop, once i push the clutch in the revs would climb up to around 1,400. i would need to pull on the back of the pedal to make the revs drop back to around 700. it still does it now after ive rebuilt the carb (quadrajet), gotten a new throttle cable etc. only thing i haven't replaced is the throttle spring. ithought it might have been abit soft so i shortened it abit but it still sticking, i ran it with 2 springs and it still sticks. can you get stronger springs new? im guessing it miight be something as easy as that as its not sticking all that much (climbs upto around 1,100 atm) but just enough to be annoying. can you get stronger springs? as im guessing i need something that can snap the throttle back that little extra bit. cheers.

check to see the brackets arent bent/missing along the throttle cable. Also if its routed properley. Have also had this problem on customers cars. Check the accelerator pedal it may be bent near the top or cracked.GL
