I'm trying to pull my alternator to bits so I can get it plated but can't quite it it all apart. Its the Bosch one with the oval style plug. Basically the winding won't come out of the housing as there is 6 prongs which come up to the diode (if thats what its called??) and are soldered at the ends. I can't see how the solder can be melted without melting the plastic around it. The alternator in the factory manual seems to have 6 nuts which you undo and then it just comes apart. Any ideas? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
