Hey guys, Have a few questions to clean up before i start the build Little info on car before i start, n/a to turbo, has recond head going to rebuild bottom end, t3 hiflowed, 3inch dump pipe into 3inch exhaust. Aiming for 180-200rwkw first up. Ok question 1. Will the n/a tailshaft bolt upto a vl turbo trans, was planning on doing trans while its out of car with engine, then do tailshaft and diff when it decides to pop. 2. King bearings, Hasting rings? sound good? 3. What headgasket? Heard about cometic etc, but if i dont need a $260 gasket, i wont do it. I heard people say go with original nissan gasket because its not a huge amount of power im trying to reach, what is the genuine nissan gasket, as in decomp plate, gasket, decomp plate? or is there another gasket out there. Currently have a monotorque 0.8mm headgasket, but was told not to go over 8psi. Should that be ok? 4. Will a n/a fuel pump be up for that power? or will i need a out of tank vl turbo one? Will go with a nistune and bosh 044 with a surge tank at a later date when i have more money, this is just to get it going at this time. 5. Should i purchase a brand new n/a oil pump, or pay somewhat $400 or so bucks for a vl turbo one? Is the n/a pump capable of being up for it, even with good oil? Will be getting a gktech no holes intercooler, and a cam, which i have not yet decided on. Input is great. cheers.

someone told me once that the n/a pump and turbo were the same... but people call it a turbo one and ask double the price...

tailshaft is the same fuel pump is the same. oil pump is different but i put out 214kw @ the rears with na oil pump no need for decomp plate providing you have good tune and front mount cooler and not so much boost standard head gasket is fine

when you say standard headgasket, do you mean n/a headgasket? I would use my monotorque one then. That would have to be better than the n/a one?

Stock head gaskets are the same between NA and turbo, and a new genuine Nissan one will be fine for that power. What transmission? Buy yourself a Bosch 044 external fuel pump, will well and truly hold that power. Worth around $190 new. NA oil pump will also be fine for that power.

Cometic gasket is a good investment!

Yeah will see how the funds go mate. how many mm are the headgaskets? because if there 0.8mm ill use my monotorque one. will get a bosch 044 pump when i can afford to get that and nistune + gtr injectors. going to start off with cam and intercooler hopefully get around 180 at the wheels. Then look into heading towards the 200+ mark with the gtr injectors and nistune, ill be happy with that. How much power can the vlt trans hold until they start slipping etc. Have all n/a running gear, so will chuck in a vlt trans before i put engine back in, just wanted to see if the n/a tailshaft would bolt up for the time being. Anyone got a ruff price on a stage 2 shiftkit to be installed? cheers.
