Hi all Quick story short, I have just put a 308 motor into my vk and the carby is ****ed. Now what i want to do is either get a secondhand one that works (if theres any around) OR replace it with something that will go on hopefully hassle free. All it is is a standard 308 with exhaust and extractors nothing special, so if you can help me out that would be good. cheers

Carby is unrebuildable, gas destroy'd it and apparently it has been burnt somewhere where it shouldn't be, and warped real bad, leaking out've everywhere possible. I did try south east carby's, twice infact (they have 2 numbers) but yeh i've managed to get a reco holden quadrajet from eagle auto's so hopefully that does the job. LUXJET: Yeh i did have a look at the ebay ones but to tell you the truth im not a carby/V8 person so i didnt know what i was looking at. I did see a reco one AFTER i purchased this other one on ebay for a decent price too (real nice, $345) but i was mainly after a standard replacement nothing too fancy

type this is on ebay quadrajet carby recon will come up with a reco quady for $280 + $25 postage. you couldn't buy cheaper elsewhere I bought a secondhand one of ebay 4 months ago for $60, got a kit put through(cost $80) and runs perfect. Although I bought a dud a couple of years ago out of the trading post.
