i was on the 1 point 12 month option for 6 months until i racked up 10 points in 2 weeks, i knew i was going to cop 6 months suspension which isnt bothering me. but..
i got a letter from vic roads a few weeks ago saying my license is suspended from today for 6 months, and then i opened another letter from vic roads which i got the other day saying i have the option of 1 point for 12 months and if i gain any points whilst on the 1 point my license will be suspended for 8 months or i choose the 4 months suspension where i will get 5 points back once its complete.
has this happened to anyone else? im going to give vic roads a call tomorrow but just wanted to see if it has happened to anyone else out there.

as your suspension hadnt actually taken place in the system. It would of "logically" given you an option(bad programming but it happens) The 6 month options is pretty much what your gonna get as you blew the 12 months 1 point.
But confirm with vic roads... But you could cop longer for dual violations... Or you might be lucky and serve concurrent suspension times like I did when I did 13 points in one go....

I would be ringing them mate.
If they say to send in you're license, make sure you do though.
I did'nt and was driving around for 5 1\2 years unlicensed , i never knew until i went to get an endorsement put on my license, had to do my driving test's all over again

i rang vic roads up today, and i was told, i have to choose an option either 1 point 1 yr or 4 months suspension n get my 5 points back in January 2010.
Although i am suspended at the moment i have another suspension thats coming into effect as of 29th september. Pretty stupid but at least its not getting added on at the end of my 1st suspension.
