My advise would be to not do it. they do not lend themselves to LPG very well at all. they have VERY soft valve seats and LPG will destroy them very quickly. I am a gas fitter and I have converted quiet a few jackaroo's over the years. I have also had to remove heads to do valves on 2 jackaroos so far and the head guys always say that they are some of the worst heads for LPG. They are also a massive backfire monster with mixer systems. the injection and ignition stratergies employed by the engine management causes them to backfire on heavy acceleration quiet easily. If you are going to get it done I would make sure you go for a VERY good vapour injection system (liquid injection is not available for the Jackaroos and probably never will be((I know I fit liquid injection ))and make sure you get a valve lubricater fitted. And then the valve shim clearances MUST be checked and adjusted BEFORE fitting the gas, especially if it has more than 60,000km on the engine. And then it MUST be done every 40,000km service. This will give the valves the very best shot at a long life. It willo cost you heaps to keep it maintained properly once on gas too. You need to change the plugs very regularly and backfires will destroy air boxes and air flow meters and the valve adjustment takes about 6 hours to do properly on them due to the difficulty of changing and sourcing the shims for valve clearance. And lastly with LPG conversions DO YOUR HOMEWORK on which installer you go with. make sure they are reputable. And with LPG conversions you get what you pay for. Cheap conversions and cheap equipment will give you issues. Pay for good stuff fitted by a fitter that cares you will have much less issues. Good luck.
