ok so i changed the gasket, filter, o'ring and fulid. aswell as fitting a tranny cooler and extended the lines to the behind the fmic. i topped it up with 3lts of fulid as the gregorys said.. and the converter wouldn't lock up and drive in D but drove slow in first. so i added 2 more lts after work and she was fine, drove in every gear. now i tightened the handbrake so i could check the level when warm, and its an inch or so above H. tested in D, N, and P while running. should i drop some fulid out or is it suppose to read high due to tranny cooler..

Make sure the motor is running when you're checking the level on the dipstick. And it should take a lot more than 3L.

mate it should be alright. 4-5ltrs sounds about right for just a filter change, as there would still be fluid left in the stally, box etc

take a tranny line off and start the car to pump some fluid out.

Just leave it, any excess will pump out the top breather hose if it has to. (and make a big mess)
