Hello, I've got a VT front brake upgrade kit, but it didnt come with new brake lines. Do I need to upgrade my front brake lines or can I just use the existing VL rubber lines?

Pretty sure you do need to get the line's made up. I'm almost %100 sure you do. Can get them off ebay: Link (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=3&campid=5335860158&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com.au%2FADR7-00-APPROVED-UNIVERSAL-BRAKE-HOSES-FOR-ALL-MODELS_W0QQitemZ120462618907QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories%3Fhash%3Ditem1c0c21b11b%26_trksid%3Dp4634.c0.m14.l1262)

You'll need lines as the extra length is required. Also if you had vt lines the thread on the bundy pipe in the inner guard is a different thread to the VT type. Speak to Tony at: UPC - Ultra Performance Components PTY LTD (formerly Competition Engineering) Unit 7, 18-20 Jesmond Rd, Croydon 3136, Victoria ph (03) 9723-9924 He did a set of braided lines for my rally car cheap as.

Yes Steve, you do. Username Mr Spares on eBay can do the right ones for you, in braided if you wish (ADR approved). http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/MR-SPARES__W0QQ_armrsZ1 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=3&campid=5335860158&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fstores.shop.ebay.com.au%2FMR-SPARES__W0QQ_armrsZ1)

Steve thanks for the heads up about the messages You do need longer hoses as the std single piston caliper has the hose in the back but the VT caliper has the hose Our braided lines are approved and can also be used on the track unlike the ebay ones that have the big bulky rubber shroud on them (have seen these melt) and cost forum members $150 a pair delivered and can be supplied in clear, black, red or blue. The thread is the same on all commodore hoses being 10mm x 1mm but it is the seat or the flare of the brake pipe that is different in these.VB to VP S1 have a double flare and from VP S2 onwards they have a ball flare.
