Steve works for TiWest I think, drop him a line. The trucks here might be big (Komatsu 830E) but they are t bar auto and there is ****all to them. Try Workpac and United KG, my bro is a fitter and works for them.

Yeah, you still get paid through the company but you usually get paid less than if you just walked through the door. Employment agencies are not charities and they have to get paid somehow. That's just what I've been told by people I've known who got through that way, YMMV.

Its not the best time ever to be applying to mining companies either! BHP just laid off more workers from Mt Keith operations...

my old boy owns a mining company. I use to work on mines. I work mostly oil and gas now. If you want to get on the mines try "REDDIRT" or HAYS or Mineworks. If you wanna work construction try someone like Monodelphous, or downers or Southern Cross Electrical they have work at Pluto Project up north. Monodelphous have heaps of work aswell up north.. But companies like Monos or downers may give you Vac work. I know BHP do it, but i think the pay stinks.

Keith is a nickel mine, they are slowing down all over the place because the price has dropped, i.e. Ravensthorpe. Everything else is still going strong.

Jack this is all I've got at the moment - Look here http://www.tiwest.com.au/Job-Opportunities.160.0.html Click the Vacation Student link - It actually includes a $1000 scholarship along with the Vac work, but its at the Kwinana Pigment Plant... Thats Nickel, not gold or iron ore where the money is still going
