Okay, this thread has been around in members section for ages - I thought it was time it got moved to readers rides. Massive clean out of all the old stuff so I could restart. In June 2005, I took delivery of boostedcals old donor car. 1987 VLT, MX7 Complied shell. It had an rb30e, Automatic box, Aircon, Power steering, 25 spline rear, and it had seen better days. Heres the body Engine bay was a mess, briefly cleaned up the exhaust side but gave up when respray drew closer. And the bit that worried me was the rust at the front windscreen I sent the engine off to get built, and then sent the car off to a panel beater that was a friend of the family. He did a bit of work, but didn't do exactly what I wanted, closed down shortly after due to some personal reasons. So I was left with the car in primer, with the bay painted, looking for a new painter. It was at this stage I decided on a colour change, going from Turismo mica to Bionic Blue.

Painting was completed, I got my engine back, and I picked up some wheels and got suspension done. Hoodlining Started putting in the interior The stuff that got stolen before it was even bolted on! More of the interior and shots of the car when I was working on it. Lights and center garnish on properly Bonnet off to help mr mechanic It was around this stage my mechanic disappeared for months - the car was locked up in his garage and I basically got over having the whole car. Finally got it to a new mechanic, everything got sorted.. I had some troubles but there's no point going into it. And then a few months later. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What are you on about - I could make it look like even more of a toy with another photo technique I only just started getting into, most probably just shallow depth of field with the camera. It's due back for some touch ups in a while, so I may get them to do it when it's back. And I'm still trying to sell the wheels! Nobody wants them. That I do, when I first got it back - I've since ripped out the LED's that came with the fuse rail kit, and it basically looks like chaos in there now. New radiator, cut the overflow off and put a tank down alongside it. Have to try and hide the wiring one day as well. Polish MC and bracket, Polish the bonnet lifter. Relocate PS res. Then get something bigger on the exhaust side. Oh and this is what it's looking like now, until I get my new wheels Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You've got a good eye. Unrolled guards and 5 guys in the car, turning into a terrible driveway - it really didn't like it. Tyre caught the guard and ripped it out big time. It's still ripped but my trip to the panel beaters is being delayed by other work. Guards are getting fixed, bonnet getting aligned, boot lid is getting resprayed, and the calais front is getting aligned. Side skirts re-attached.

Car is booked in for Aircon today, with it hitting 34 degrees on Sunday I figured it was perfect timing. Apart from that, I've had a change of heart about selling it. I was planning on putting it on the market in a few months time. But.... I'm leaning towards a new gt35/40, lowmount exh manifold, injectors, management etc. I'll get some better pictures in a few weeks time.

Will see how the finances are looking next week. If I sell my wheels I can do it straight up hopefully. I have to go to a wrecker sometime this week and get a few random parts that I've been missing for a while as well. Grey sunvisor clips and that little square that covers the main bolt on the dash.
