I reckon about 10 hours all up, but I've never paid to get mine done

invest some good tools, engine crane/stand and a box of 6 pack. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You could possible save some money buying your own cranes and engine stand. Plus you'll get to know your car abit better as well as having some mates around for drink while a group of you work on the car. Me and a few mates ripped mine out within a couple of hours and we had a drink and a laugh. Better than paying some one mechanic $80-$100 dollars an hour. The money you spend on a mechanic to pull out your engine could be spent on a crane, stand and other parts. Also mechanics can really sting you in parts saying this had to replaced and that had to fixed. Anyway it's totally up to you. Also having a crane & stand allows for further modification in the future if you need to. Here's a couple of pictures of the crane, stand & engine leveler I used. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

sounds tempting but the car will be sitting there a while, i got no time to do it rather just pay someone to do for me,

avoid it at all costs man, that money could go somewhere else than getting the engine out. just get a few mates together, or even spend 20minutes a night disconnecting things.
