Hey all I purchased this 1994 VR Calais 5L few months ago with the intent to build it up while ive lost my licence. Only way I can explain this car is that when I got it well it was messed up Transmission had lost all gears except 1st, Diff was blown, Engine was on its way out guess thats what happens when its 288,963 kms old, paint was faded and clear was coming off and I dont even want to get started on the interior. But the two good things were the body was straight except for RHS front guard and front bar and it just had a full suspension system put through it. So I got right into it I ripped engine and trans out and purchased a VR SS Engine that had a fair bit of cash thrown at it Forged pistons, double valve springs, crane solid cam, Head work shaved 50 thou, Bigger injectors, etc and a Re-built Irs LSD diff with 4.11s so I put the engine and diff in straight away and pulled trans out to either get rebuilt or get a new one still deciding atm. I will add some more pics of interior and other things when i find usb cord for my camera. I have so far added - HSV 185i chip - New Standard Leather Interior - New alternator, battery, starter motor, leads, etc - BIG sound system - White walled 20x9inch DUB rims - Altezza lights - Extractors and twin exhaust to single. - Usual little things like gauges etc Future mods: - Big engine, trans and diff combo - Custom leather re trim - Senator Body kit - Custom boot install Car is currently being stripped down to be sent off to be resprayed black and while its gone I will organise a new transmission and get seats and door trims retrimmed. Ill update as I go so let me know what you think so far good or bad or any ideas u might have on what I should do Cheers Lachlan Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
